Black & White Challenge: Day 3

I have been invited by the talented Eliza Waters to take part in the Black & White 5 Day Challenge. She shares my love for nature and the great outdoors, and I am honored she thought of me. 🙂

My Day 3 photo is a true captured moment. I was driving to an early morning appointment, when I suddenly gasped while passing a small hiking trail into the woods. It was like something I had never seen before, and was so beautiful that I immediately turned my car around. Luckily, I had my camera on hand.

It was a magical scene . . . light rain had just ended and every branch and twig was now covered in perfectly placed water-drops, while light mist was gently rising over the small babbling stream. The sun began to rise, and when at that perfect angle every bit of moisture became illuminated. I quickly began taking pictures, and then the moment was gone.

This is why I love photography . . . while “mental photographs” are great, I feel so fortunate to have this physical picture and to truly be able to re-live that morning. It can now never be forgotten. 🙂

Today, I would like to invite Rob to the Black & White Photo Challenge. He shares my passion for nature, hiking, and the great outdoors. The photos of his adventures are just awesome.

There are only 2 rules to follow by accepting this challenge:

1. On 5 consecutive days, create a post using a recent or past photo in black and white.

2. Each day, invite another blogger friend to join in on the fun.

Here’s to seeing the world in a simple, beautiful way! 🙂
